On June 25th and 26th the NASA Advisory Council (NAC) Aeronautics Committee came to Dallas, Texas to see the Airspace Operations and Safety Program (AOSP) research being used by the local airlines and FAA Air Traffic Management. Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) leaders. Committee members were briefed on the Collaborative Digital Departure Rerouting (CDDR) service at the North Texas Research Station (NTX) before seeing it running live at American Airlines. The Digital Information Platform (DIP) team’s CDDR service is the first of four operational demonstrations in support of NASA’s Sustainable National Flight Partnership (SFNP) goals of sustainable aviation. The NAC held one of its public meetings on the 26th, during which the AOSP leadership presented greater details on CDDR and the SFNP-Ops demo series. The success of the NTX portion of the VIP visit was credited to NASA, Cavan Solutions, USRA, and Metis.
