Aeronautics: NASA ATD-2 Champions Cup August 2021 Awarded to Jaelin McCreary (USRA) and Kelly Schriner (Crown)

The NASA ATD-2 Champions Cup is the preeminent team-driven award on ATD-2 bestowed upon those teams and individuals exhibiting the characteristics and qualities of a ‘True Champion’ as demonstrated through exemplary efforts in support of the NASA ATD-2 project. Each month, the previous award recipient selects the next awardee and passes on the Cup during the team meetings. It is a fun way for ATD-2 team members to acknowledge and recognize each other’s accomplishments.
 
Jaelin McCreary (USRA) and Kelly Schriner (Crown) are the Champions Cup winners for August. From the Cup presenter, Divya Bhadoria (NASA):
 
Kelly and Jaelin have been key members of the ATD-2 Phase 3 benefits team. In the past year they have shown tremendous growth by building their operational knowledge and applying it to their tasks. As new members joined the team, Kelly and Jaelin helped them ramp up on what we do and helped orient them with the tasks enabling them to quickly come up to speed. They have been very responsive to all requests from various ATD-2 team members and are always willing to learn more.
 
For the Phase 3 TOS Environmental Benefits work Jaelin and Kelly took ownership of the task and created end to end code for reading in the various data tables provided by partner airlines, translating all the data into a format that’s compatible with other data tables from different sources that are used in calculations, implementing the calculations and visualizations, working with data reporting team to seamlessly incorporate all of this into daily reports. This task was tedious, and they took great care to perform sanity checks in their calculations before reporting their results. They have been flexible in taking feedback or last-minute request for changes.
