August 2022
August 2022, the Air Traffic Management - eXploration (ATM-X) Digital Information Platform (DIP) subproject released its cloud-based Catalog of aviation data services. The DIP Catalog is a repository of information about services useful for and desired by airline operators, air traffic controllers, and other aviation users. The DIP Catalog supports features such as register, browse, search, discover, try, subscribe, and connect to services. Service providers can register their offerings with the Catalog. Users can browse and search through the Catalog, inspect service APIs, and try services. Users can subscribe to services and acquire the necessary connection information and required credentials for access to services.
The DIP subproject has also deployed a set of services (originally developed for ATD2) that utilize machine learning techniques to provide surface management capabilities. The DIP subproject fuses aviation data from multiple separate raw data feeds and provides interfaces to access this fused data in easily accessible formats thus improving data sharing and collaboration within the aviation community. The first three partners have been onboarded with more working through legal agreements to join. This is a big milestone for the project and an exciting time for the whole team!
The following NAMS staff support the ATM-X DIP subproject: Alex Amblard, PhD (USRA), Liang Chen (Moffett Technologies, Inc.), Cynthia Freedman (USRA), Jody Null (USRA), Mohamad Refai (Crown), Keenan Roach (USRA), Sarah Youlton (USRA).
