Aviation Data Science Lab (DSL)

Capabilities

NASA Ames Research Center and USRA are working with University of California, Berkeley to help take urban mobility to the skies. The collaboration is investigating the next evolution of transportation, as people and goods move via land and air in a safe, efficient, sustainable, and equitable manner. Experts in government, industry and academia are coming together in this broad research initiative to evaluate the potential of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) to propel the next transportation revolution. As the number of air vehicles grows exponentially with unmanned aerial systems and the amount of data grows exponentially in civil aviation, the future holds more promise for a greater impact from advanced tools and techniques in data science and AI.
